I hurt my back in a farm accident as a teen and then re-injured it at 27 years old. I couldn’t walk and was in constant pain. I went the MD route…muscle relaxers, hospital traction, and bed rest. It helped somewhat, but I was still in constant pain and had to walk with a cane. The doctors wanted to do surgery, but a friend talked me into trying chiropractic. For the next 25 years I tried chiropractic, going to approximately 10 different DC’s. Each one would use a different technique which would work for a year or two and then I’d be right back where I started. I was once again in constant pain and could only drag my right foot. Finally I decided I would try injections and then surgery.
A lady at my church suggested that before the injections and surgery, I try Dr. Bob Berry. As a last resort, I made an appointment and was introduced to Dr. Bob and his staff, “super” people. They genuinely cared about me and my overall health and well-being. Dr. Bob will work with other health professionals to help his patients achieve the best health possible. He is the only chiropractor that I know that monitors your progress and works with you on an individual basis. Dr. Bob and his staff are the very best.

I am 79 years old and had headaches almost constantly for 2 months. I had met Dr. Berry and decided that I would try to see if he could help me. Under his care, my health has vastly improved. I rarely have any headaches or any other problems, for that matter. I’ve attended many of his Tuesday night workshops and have learned a great deal.
I would highly recommend chiropractic care. The results are fantastic, I think Dr. Berry is the best!

I came to Dr. Bob because of lower back pain. It was painful to walk, stand, sit, and sleep. As Dr. Bob treated me, my pain began to lessen and become more manageable. The amazing part of all of this…I HAD, and I stress HAD, carpal tunnel syndrome. I experienced pain and numbness in mostly my right hand. A neurologist told me that surgery and drugs were in my future! After 3 months of corrective care, I could drive pain free, sleep without numbness that would wake me continuously, and so on. AMAZING! The most profound change that I experienced was the way corrective care affected my asthma. I had been taking six different medications and inhalers. I am now just using one.
I had no idea how this kind of care could affect the quality of my life and my family’s life. My husband and 2 year old daughter are also committed to their health through chiropractic care. Many thanks to Dr. Bob and his caring staff.

I was experiencing pain and tightness on the top of my left shoulder, up the left side of my neck into the base of my skull and down my left side between my spine and left shoulder blade. I had restricted range of motions and experienced knots, muscle spasms, and headaches. My sleep was often affected and I was unable to sleep on my left side because of neck pain.
After being diagnosed by Dr. Bob, we began treating the problems with adjustments, and the use of the Berry Translation Table. After a short period of time, the correction to my neck was realized and all of my symptoms subsided.
To think of what the quality of life would be like if Dr. Bob was not practicing here and taking care of us, is sobering! Life can be difficult. But without good health, it can be unbearable!

When I came to Dr. Bob’s office I was hoping I would find the answers I had been looking for, for months. After 4-5 months of going to another chiropractor, neurologists, an orthopedic surgeon and physical therapy; I felt this might be my last option to not have to continue to live in pain.
On August 22, 2001 I was getting ready for work when I encountered an aching pain in the middle upper back. I felt nauseous, like I was coming down with the flu. The pain radiated up my arms into my neck. By the end of the day I couldn’t lift my head and by the next day I ended up in the ER at Schuyler who then later transferred me to Arnot Ogden by ambulance. I spent the next 4 days in the hospital on morphine and demerol. I couldn’t go to the bathroom, it hurt to sit up or lie down. To make a long story shorter I found out after several months that I had DDD (Degenerative Disc Disease) of my neck and lower back. I was only 33 years old by now but felt much older. I was told by one doctor that this was something I would “just have to live with”. A friend of my father’s told us about Dr. Bob’s office. I had been given a referral to the pain clinic and had to fax my information to them; in the meantime I had left messages at both the pain clinic and Dr. Bob’s office. When Dr. Bob’s office called me back for some reason I thought it was the pain clinic and in the meantime had decided against getting shots. So when Dr. Bob’s office called I told the girl that I had decided against going there. She asked politely why and I told her I didn’t want shots. She said this was “Advanced Family Chiropractic” and they didn’t give shots. I was like “Oh..Ok”, and made an appointment. I felt I had nothing to lose. Dr. Bob showed me with x-rays that he took that I had a 126% loss of curve in my neck, I also had 2 curves instead of 1. After 3 months of adjustments and traction I went from 2 curves to 1 and have over a 30% improvement on my loss of curve. Also when I first started coming to Dr. Bob’s I had numbness in both thighs which disappeared within the first month of coming to his office. Although I still have a long ways to go, I have come a long ways also. I can hold my niece who is over 1 year old, I can pick up my 6 year old daughter . I can walk the entire length of the mall without pain, and can mow the lawn. All thanks to Dr. Bob! Lastly I would like to thank Cheryl, Jamie & Valerie for being such wonderful people. They complete the “family atmosphere” and compliment Dr. Bob’s practice.
**UPDATE** After almost 9 years I still go to Dr. Bob’s. Some weeks more often than others-but I always know if I am experiencing pain-Dr. Bob can fix it. I have been pouring candles for about 8 years now-only because of my time with Dr. Bob. I know what things I can do, and what things I can’t, and what things I can do-but might require me to see him sooner.. I am now walking on my treadmill 1-2 miles depending on the night 5 out of 7 days of the week. I can’t imagine this to have happened if I had stopped my care with Dr. Bob once I felt “fixed”.
Dr. Bob told me when I first started he would never promise me to be 100% but he would get me to the best I can be and help me live comfortably with what challenges I might face physically. Don’t wait until you can’t stand the pain-if I had, had the chance I would have bypassed all of the doctors and went straight to Advanced Family Chiropractic-cause as they say when they answer the phone, “Advanced Family Chiropractic, this is “Cheryl”, I can help!”
